IV. Assessment

It seemed in keeping with the spirit of this project that our assessment of student growth be completed before authentic audiences.

School Board Presentation:
Students presented their experiences before our School Board during an evening reserved for updating them on activities at our school.

OPI Presentation:
Students spoke, by invitation, before the Olympic Park Institute’s Board of Directors in Seattle. Using a PowerPoint to illustrate their points, five students explained what new experiences they had had, what new information they had gained, and what staying at OPI had meant to them personally. They got some rave reviews, including two personal letters to our Superintendent of Schools complimenting them on their efforts.

EHHS Elwha Project Presentations Assembly:
At the end of the year, we had our first annual EHHS Elwha Project Presentations Assembly. Each student presented his/her passion project before our student body and invited guests, including representatives of Olympic ESD and the National Park Service. There were opportunities to ask questions and respond after each presentation.
